In the late 1990s, American businessman Alex met Luna, a young woman with ADHD, in China. Inspired by her struggles, Alex introduced her to golf, which helped Luna manage her emotions and discover a hidden talent.
This experience led Alex to team up with Luna’s father, Lu Ming, to create a golf ball factory. Their focus on quality and inclusivity, employing individuals with disabilities, earned them a reputation for excellence.
In 2023, Alex proposed launching their own brand, SUMBONUM, to offer affordable, high-quality golf balls for beginners. The name, Latin for "the highest good," reflects their mission to provide value while supporting ADHD and disability charities.
SUMBONUM launched in May 2024, with products designed for new golfers. Though initial sales were slow, their dedication to quality and social impact earned them customer trust.
Alex and Luna’s journey is a story of growth and giving back. SUMBONUM stands for more than great golf balls—it’s a brand built on hope, inclusivity, and making a difference.
